Yes, as long as we become better human beings, more loving and caring for ourselves, our “neighbors.” our world and our God. Religion gives us guidelines to determine what is good and how to be a “good” person. Through rituals, our religions help ingrain the principles they teach us to live by. The end result is a lifestyle based on those principles. That’s my take on religion.
Religion is a matter of personal preference. We tend to follow in our parent’s footsteps, as you did, for a while. I did, too, but they were not religious. I’ll tell you more about my journey another time, if you like.
